Position Summary

 The Database/Interface Engineer will play a key technical role working closely with product owners and vendors to manage, create, deploy, and enhance databases and front end applications. A demonstrated track record of deploying web portals and electronic documentation systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs analysis and makes recommendations in areas that require a high level of technical competency.
  • Designs databases and data dictionary criteria.
  • Performs a variety of complex programming tasks, such as designing, documenting, and coding program logic.
  • Provides technical training, guidance, and resource support for end users and Departmental staff.
  • Provides first level application support and enhancements to existing applications.
  • Defines system requirements, priorities, and viable alternatives.
  • Coordinates the efforts of staff to locate, assess, install, test, and maintain computer software systems.
  • Familiarity with electronic documentation systems and web portal systems.
  • Performs as a project lead providing leadership and coordination on projects assigned.
  • In addition to all accountabilities of the DBA/Client Interface position, assumes greater leadership role, utilizing broader knowledge and high-level technical skills.
  • Assists in developing user documentation and departmental policies and procedures which impact the use of application systems.
  • Continues to develop professional skills in the information systems and health care fields through trade magazines, manuals, seminars, and courses.
  • Working knowledge of virtual technologies in a production environment with emphasis on ESXi and SAN/NAS implementations.

 Position Qualifications

  • A minimum of 7 years’ experience designing and implementation using .NET, HTML, PHP, IIS, Linux, in a Microsoft domain environment.
  •  Have acted as subject matter expert and product owner on business and technical system processes with day-to-day interfacing with dev teams.
  • A minimum of 5 years working with stakeholders capturing business requirements and translating them into functional specifications.
  • Ability to pass a thorough background check and pre-employment drug screen.
  • Must possess a current Washington State Driver’s License and be insurable under the Tribe’s vehicle insurance.
